At present, the biggest capacity of hydro-generator unit is 10000MW at home and abroad, due to the capacity of hydro-generator unit is huge, the great loss caused by the oscillation from power system disturbance for machine or grid. Therefore, it is very necessary to study the running performance of 1000MW hydro-generator systematically. In this paper, the small oscillation of 1000MW Hydro-generator is studied thoroughly.Firstly, the developing background and study state of 1000MW Hydro-generator at home and abroad are introduced in this paper, and the researching significance of small oscillation for synchronous generator is analyzed detailed.Secondly, the small oscillation of 1000MW hydro-generator is summarized. The physical process of steady small oscillation is analyzed. The expressions of electromagnetic parameters variable under 1000MW hydro-generator small sinusoidal oscillation is deduced, according to the disturbance of small sinusoidal signal, for example, power angle, torque, rotating speed and synchronizing torque coefficient, damping torque coefficient. Based on the relative parameters of 1000MW hydro-generator in the design, the variable rule of electromagnetic torque is induced without considering stator resistance by simulation and analysis.Once again, from state equation of synchronous generator, based on Numerical Solution of MATLAB, under rated load condition, current, electromagnetic torque, power angle under 1000MW hydro-generator small oscillation are calculated. When jump disturbance applied on driving torque a short time, the variable rules of torque, rotating speed and current are analyzed furtherly, and amplitude of vibration is summarized.At last, model of the infinite power grid for hydro-generator is established, though simple analysis of method that is motion of periodic attenuation, under rated load operation, small oscillation is researched by simulation,between different frequency of oscillation (2Hz-4Hz) and different weaving amplitude of power angle(0o -10o), extreme value of electromagnetic torque,power angle,rotating speed is calculated. Electromagnetic torque, power angle, rotational speed will be stability when excitation regulator by using a short time in oscillation. Variables of parameters are extracted by data of simulation,at the same time, the variable of attenuation for electromagnetic torque, power angle, rotational speed is induced.The conclusion from this paper provides some theory reference for research of 1000MW hydro-generator which is the operation state and generator coordinate with grid. It will be provides a new method that is research for small oscillation of hydro-generator, it has been certain theoretical significance and practical value.
