Due to its advantages such as easy to produce, low cost of production, credibility of function and ability to endure high pressure, shell and tube heat exchanger is widely applied by industries. However, its implication is limited because of its low heat exchange capability. It is very important to effectively improve the heat exchange capability of shell and tube heat exchanger, and enhancement heat change is an effective way to do it. There are two directions to study the enhancement heat change of shell and tube heat exchanger: tube side enhancement heat change and shell side enhancement heat change. Shell and tube heat exchanger regains its significance with the appearance of innovative tube of enhancement heat change and shell structure. Now there are a lot of papers to study the heat exchange and resistance characteristic of highly effective heat exchanger theoretically and experimentally. Based on the experiment of the heat exchange and resistance characteristic of heat exchanger, the content and results of this paper are presented in the following:1 Summarizing the development of heat exchanger, the state of study both in China and abroad. Then create three kinds of highly effective heat exchanger:micro-fin tube heat exchanger, flat tube heat exchanger and micro-fin flat tube heat exchanger.2 Introducing the structure of three heat exchanger and their characteristics. Theoritically analyzing and selecting appropriate ways of tube arrangement and the requirements of production.3 Water-water heat exchange experiment of heat exchanger is carried out, and data is collected. Based on the experiment, the capability of heat exchange of the heat exchanger is analyzed.
