In steel frame beam-to-column connections play a vital role, their behavior affects steel frames overall performance under loads. Following the high-strength bolts were widely used in the steel-frame joints, we discover through research that these joints connected by high strength bolts was regarded between rigid and pinned. The semi-rigid connection have many advantages, such as high resistance ability, large stiffness, good seismic behavior, convenient for construction and good economic benefits, It have been gradually adopted in building. Research of the T-stub semi-rigid connections have important realistic meanings, which can provide experimental data and suggestion for structure and construction method of practical engineering. In this paper, the T-stub semi-rigid connection is researched with the test and the finite element program ANSYS. First, Two T-stub semi-rigid connection models are designed for the one-way loading test. The distribution of stress of T-stub and beam and column under all levels of loads are discussed, the initial stiffness, the ultimate strength and failure models were gained in this test. Compared with two models, the effects of thickness of flange of the T-stub on connections behaviors are analyzed. Second, The basic component is designed, with the finite element program ANSYS, the nonlinear analysis to the basic component is made, and its failure mode and joint behavior are analyed. To vertify the model is correct, the test model T-1 and T-2 are analyzed with the finite element program ANSYS by the same modeling method. The finite result accords with the test result. This proves the model is correct and feasible. At last, On the base of the basic component, Through changed the connection parameters to derived some component, the influence of the parameter variation for the behavior of connections. The result shows that components material, thickness of flange of column, height of beam, thickness of flange of T-stub, height of flange of T-stub, distance of vertical bolt are influced the the initial stiffness and the ultimate strength of the T-stub semi-rigid connection greatly. The suitable joint constructions of T-stub connections are gained. It provide theoretical basis and lay test foundations for the future research of the T-stub connections.
