The main responsibility of fishery ship is to cruise around the exclusive economic zone, protect the fisheries around the island and rescue the fisheries on incidents. With the rise of political and economic of the ocean, the fishery ships are more and more important. The fishery ship is belonged to the ships of small-scale and high speed. During the different period of design, the method to calculate the resistance is not accurate and often limited to the parameters of ship. This paper is committed to find the wide application and high accuracy method to calculate the resistance during the periods of main parameters and hull form.In the process of the design of parameters, the calculation maps of Ayer and Taylor are imported into the database. Then SQL SERVER is used to call ACCESS to calculate the resistance of fisheries, then compare the results with the tests to obtain the coefficients of correction.With the resistance curve of correcting above, we use the analysis curve of propeller of AU series of open water test to design the propeller preliminary, and then determine whether the main parameters can satisfy the service speed of the ship.On the reliability of the parameters, the design of hull form starts and discuss some methods of resistance based on hull form. Wave resistance is the main part of fishery ship which is belonged to category of high speed. Michell, RANKINE and Fluent are used to calculate the resistance through the hull form to obtain more accurate results. Compare the results with the test to find the method which is matched for fishery ship.Finally, SUMT is used with Michell and RANKINE to optimize the hull form of ship. Then the original is compared with the optimization ones, excellent hull form is obtained.
