With the recent economic development, urban power supply situation has undergone great changes in recent years. In the past, long-distance distribution approach has greatly restricted the development of the city's power supply. Urban network construction needs that high pressure goes into the city and in-depth load center directly. Prefabricated substation can replace most of the traditional substation. The small compact configurations of prefabricated substation mean as small as possible, but it have a negative impact necessarily for its heat distribution if this volume will reduce. The poor heat dissipation of prefabricated substation will directly affect reliability and service life of products, so to achieve high reliability, small compact and less maintenance, the study of ventilation and heat dissipation of prefabricated substation is required.This issue is based on the structural features and applications of prefabricated substation. The status of the prefabricated substation, their internal high and low voltage power distribution equipment, electric power transformer and cabinet are introduced. In the test platform, internal temperature distribution of the transformer was measured. the temperature rise tests of short circuit current in the different conditions are done, internal relation curves of the transformer are drawed between temperature and time. Through the temperature rise test between transformers and prefabricated substation, the data are analysed and explained. And these data are supported for the next research.On this basis, combining with numerical simulation theory, according to the study of heat load of substation preinstalled characteristics and heat transfer law, through the establishment of the geometry of the substation pre-load, physics, mathematics and discrete grid using CFD software to simulate the model, it is concluded that the internal temperature distribution transformer substation, and the distribution of velocity vector and the exit temperature and speed.Because the heats in the prefabricated substation mainly come from the transformer, compared with it, the heats coming from high and low voltage cabinet room are small. So the transformer indoor department the heating effect of the transformer and the temperature distribution is necessary. And based on this Gambit model building, analysis of the changes with time of internal temperature distribution and calculate the clouds to stabilize the distribution of internal temperature after transformer are researched.
