In China, about one fifth of the total installed capacity of China's power system is used for driving fans, pumps and so on which need to speed the load. The traditional method which to control the entrance regulation gate opening of the fan, pump, causing a serious waste of energy. VVVF technology in particular High voltage VVVF is the best effective method of motor energy saving. And with rapid development of power electronic, computer, automation technology, the performance of the High voltage VVVF technology is maturing. In this paper, the application of High voltage VVVF in the boiler blower of Guangzhou power plant were studied.In this paper, first the significance of the VVVF technology which used in power plant's fan is introduced, and the background, characteristic and development of high voltage inverter is also talked simply. In chapter 2, the method of control the air volume which supplied by boiler blower in Guangzhou power plant is introduced. And discusses the feasibility of the reformation which will happened in the blower by using High voltage VVVF technology. And than the feature of the high voltage inverter which manufactured by Yaskawa Electric co.Ltd is introduced simply. Chapter 3 main focuses on the alteration of project, including wiring, relay protection & DCS interface, and introduces the effect of the alteration. The last chapter discusses the problems which happened in using the high voltage inverter, such as over current, low voltage.
