Grounding is a system that conductive parts of power system and electrical equipment connect to earth. It provides fault current and lightning current discharge passage, and ensures the safety of equipment and operators. Grounding system design is very important for the electric power engineering project.This paper analyzes the considerations and achievement of design the grounding system of power plant, and gives the design method and process of grounding system of power plant. This paper analyzes the grounding resistance reduction methods from the resistance reduction principle, the applicable condition, the advantages and disadvantages. The principle of the grounding resistance reduction method is summarized. And put emphasis on long vertical grounding electrodes design.Grounding electrodes buried in the earth,the corrosion of soil is inevitable.The principle and influence factors of grounding electrode corrosion in soil are analyzed, and the measures to prevent corrosion grounding electrode are advanced. Base on engineering practice, several anticorrosion measures are compared from technological and economic.
