In this paper, the application cases of the typical power supply modes of new rural electrification are analyzed, and the basic requirements about the power grid planning, distribution transformers, reactive power compensation, low voltage circuit, the household table, and so on are discussed. The types and set of the new rural electrification are researched, and finally the typical cases of power supply mode of A, B and C typical region are cited and analysed.According to the application of energy-saving technology in the new rural power supply mode, a general reactive power optimization model is formulated, the objective function is minimizing the active power loss. An improved differential evolution algorithm is proposed to solve the problem. The basic concept of this algorithm is that according to the evolution performance the dynamic parameter adjustment mechanism is adopted to improve its search efficiency during the evolutional process. Further more, the algorithm conducts the real-time surveillance to the condition of population overlap, the chaos search strategy based on Tent map is used to enhance its ability of seeking global optimum further. The numerical results on a rural power grid demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model and algorithm.At last, the data communication mode of the typical power supply mode is discussed. This paper mainly introduces the wireless sensor network technology and PON technology, which may provide effective way to solve the problem with rural electric automation communication.
