There are a lot of high-temperature and high-pressure pipelines in a nuclear power plant. Because of the rupturing of the pipeline would lead to the releasing of radioactive materials. It is necessary to ensure the integrity of the pipelines. Because of all work transient existing in a nuclear power plant, the pipeline vibration becomes inevitable. In order to prevent the fatigue failure of pipelines caused by vibration, in a nuclear power plant, some important equipments such as pressure relief pipes and wave tubes etc. were installated devices like dampers for protection.This thesis analyzed and summarized the mathematical model of the elastomer damper first. This can be ready for the designing of the elastomer damper and the mechanics modeling of the elastomer damper. Then, according to the theory, simulated the vibration response of a single-freedom system using the elastomer damper or not. under the impact of a continuous sine wave and the impulse wave. Finally, taking a main water supply pipeline of a nuclear power plant as an example, analyzed the structure dynamics analysis of the pipeline based on ANSYS, and then analyzed and compared the same characteristics using the elastomer damper in order to check the protective effect and to get the right parameters of the elastomer damper.The main contributions of the thesis are summarized as follows:(1) Summarized the mathematical model of the elastomer damper. For power law model related the speed in impact environment, the analysis shows that the model is relevant of the damping coefficient and the size of the structure. Based on the Maxwell viscoelastic fluid model, analyzed the working principle of the elastomer damper under impact, and then deduced the mathematical expressions of damping force.(2) The vibration reduction for validation of the elastomer damper. Program for simulating the vibration response of the system under the impact of a continuous sine wave and the impulse based on Matlab/Simulink. Compare the vibration protective performances between using an elastomer damper and a hydraulic damper. This makes it possible to using an elastomer damper in the vibration protective of pipeline in nuclear power plant.(3) The mechanical simulation of the pipeline using an elastomer damper. Analyze and summarizes the structure dynamics analysis of the main water supply pipeline of a nuclear power plant, in order to get the basis of vibration protection. Further more, simulating the structure dynamics analysis of the main water supply pipeline using an elastomer damper. Compare the vibration responses with the ones before in order to demonstrate the good protection performance of the elastomer damper.
