Evaporative cooling air conditioning technology is one of Environmental, efficient and economic cooling mode. Its low equipment cost can significantly reduce electricity consumption and alleviate power pressure during peak period. It can also reduce greenhouse gases and CFC emissions. Evaporative cooling air conditioning is widely used for comfort cooling in residential and public buildings. It can be also used in traditional industry region such as Textile mills, flour mills, foundries and power plants & etc in order to improve workers' comfort.The most important factor which affects the performance of the closed cooling tower is its inner tube type indirect evaporative cooler. Though traditional metal heat exchanger has relatively high material thermal conductivity and good heat transfer effect under ideal condition, it has many disadvantages such as easy to scale, corrosion, high energy consumption and relatively high production costs. Dirt always appears to be mixture so that it has very low thermal conductivity which greatly affects heat transfer effect. In order to overcome corrosion problems, we use special metal material which has high prize to replace traditional metal. Thermal plastic is a new polymer material invented to solve these problems. Thermal conductivity material is added in ordinary plastic to solve the problem of ordinary plastic's poor thermal conductivity. With the further development of thermal plastic, it is very possible to use thermal plastic to produce tube heat exchangers so as to solve the corrosion and scaling problems of traditional metal heat exchangers.Through analyzing the heat and mass transfer process of indirect evaporative cooling air conditioning, we proposed factors which influence the heat and mass transfer of horizontal coil under water film role, established physical model of the the heat and mass transfer process. And on this basis, we build mathematical correlations of heat and mass transfer coefficient separately. Through Matlab's visualization function, we could visually analyze the heat and mass transfer coefficient trends which can give suggestions to the experiment.According to parameter order in the theoretical analysis, we built the experimental platform which had a size of 0.6m×0.6m×2m. By this platform, we could simulate simple cooling tower, test the relevance between heat & mass transfer coefficient and theoretical analysis. It could also analyze whether thermal plastic coil can solve the low heat transfer performance problem of ordinary plastic coil. The paper discussed the feasibility of using thermal plastic coil to replace traditional metal coil in order to essentially solve its low anti-corrosion and anti-fouling ability.
