Single screw compressor was born in 1960s in France, it is a new type of volumetric gas compressors. Due to its unique advantages, such as, simple structure, superior mechanical performance, high reliability, single screw compressor was well received by compressor industry since it was born. But the complex shape of spiral meshing pair make it really difficult for manufacturing, and processing precision low, this shortcoming restricts the development of single screw compressor. At present, only a few developed countries can produce this kind of compressor in the world. Although Some of the domestic institutions and units master the theory of designing meshing pair type line, it still have not make progress for how to choose the ideal meshing pair type line, and how to process high precision of meshing pair.This paper based on Cylinder-Cylinder enveloping surface meshing pair, conducted a comprehensive study of single screw compressor screw. This paper introduces the work and engagement theory of single screw compressor, how to choose the ideal mating-type line, establish the spatial mathematical model of the meshing pair, design the main parameters of meshing pair with the space mathematical model, determine the surface equation of meshing pair, at last, this paper verify the correctness of Meshing pair envelope principle. Both the design and processing of star wheel are the difficulties of research of single screw compressor, this paper analysis star wheel from materials, characteristics, and manufacturing processes, and finally design a regular star wheel, and special tools for star wheel. This paper testifies the feasibility of the new processing method by experiment. Three-dimensional modeling of star wheel and other core components provides a great convenience for meshing pair, and also provides a theoretical basis to improve the accuracy of the meshing pair. This paper studies the hydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of the single screw compressor, provides a strong theoretical foundation to improve the reliability and stability of the meshing pair.Due to the technological blockade of western developed countries, single screw compressor develop slowly in China, products passing rate is low, life is short and can't reach mass production. The major technical problems restrict the development of single screw compressor is the design and processing of the meshing pair, and this is the main reason to select this topic. This study has a great significance to single screw compressor screw meshing pair, especially the processing of star wheel.
