Power is the major secondary energy in China. With the development of national economy, saving energy and reducing cost of production is becoming the target chased by a company. However, there are a large number of reactive power load existing in the power system that are from the power lines, power transformers and electrical equipment users. A large number of reactive power load in system running will reduce the power factor, increase the loss of line voltage and power loss, and it will have a serious impact on the economic benefits of power enterprises. An effective way to solve these problems is to compensate reactive power and improve power factor. The increasing of the power factor, will not only improve the supply capacity of power supply equipment, reduce the voltage loss in the power system, but also improve the power quality and lower power consumption, so as to save the power and improve the economic efficiency of enterprises. Therefore, the compensation of reactive power load place in important position in power distribution systems.Reactive compensation is essentially an multi-objective, multi-constraint problem. It can be divided into two parts: mathematical modeling and algorithm optimizing. Researchers establish relevant mathematical models mainly from the perspective of reliability and economy .With the rapid development of artificial intelligence in recent years, particle swarm optimization, genetic algorithms, simulated annealing and other intelligent optimization methods are introduced to the reactive power compensation, which has opened up new channels for solving the problem of reactive compensation optimizing. This paper establishes a mathematical model of reactive power compensation aiming at improving the quality of the power network and solves the problem optimizly by using the nonlinear planning algorithm. Huaihua optimal reactive power compensation system constructed by the method is suitable for assessment and management of electrical safety status of the specific problems of practice, and it is a useful attempt to solve the problem of optimization of reactive power compensation.The design and achievement of reactive compensation optimal system is the important element of this thesis. The paper proposes a scheme of VB-based optimization of reactive power compensation system combining with the specific characteristics of the power in Huaihua city, and elaborate the core modules functions of the system and the implementation.
