| As a distinguished gathering, Garden exhibition is mainly characterized by exhibitinggardening and horticultural products and technology. Garden exhibition is a stage to displaynewly-developed materials and technology in garden and horticulture industry; an effectiveway to improve urban economic development and construction in new districts; a necessarymethod to perfect urban green space system and living environment; an important medium topass on culture and improve the popularity and attraction of the city. Many countries in theworld have organized various kinds and scales of garden exhibitions. In the recent years, Chinahas organized all kinds of garden exhibitions since the first world-class one held in Kunming.Garden exhibition is a festival activity with the character of timeliness. The unique stageis reflected in the aspects of courts and materials using. Courts and landscapes created by allmaterials are provided only during the period of exhibiting. The planning and designing ofgarden exposition is leaded by the theory of sustainable development. Thus recycling of energy,materials and resources can be guaranteed, and low-carbon and ecologic landscapes can bebuilt. Garden exposition pays attention to human-oriented and humanistic landscapes. At thesame time, both the re-planning and redesigning of courts after finishing exhibition andcreating new value of courts and materials are important research subjects.Leaded by the theory of sustainable development, this thesis does a detailed analysis ofthe whole life cycle in exhibition by comparising, inducing and arranging historic gardenexhibition cases and characters of exhibitions and designing methods. Besides, this thesissuggests methods of post utilization after the exhibition, seeks a series of planning anddesigning thoughts of organizing sustainable garden exhibition, and summarizes therelationship between sustainability and garden exhibition. At last, it analyzes the reflection ofsustainability in exhibition designing through citing the program practices in which the writerworked as a participator. |
