Active radial magnetic bearings mainly include two kinds,the heteropolar structure and the homopolar structure.The traditional heteropolar structural radial magnetic bearings'flux is perpendicular to the rotor axis,but the other's is parallel to the rotor axis. The traditional structure's stator is similar to motor stator,and it's easy to be manufactured.The significant advantage of the homopolar structure is that there is less coupling, and it's easy to be controlled.But this structure is hard to be manufactured,and the accuracy is not high. So at present,the traditional structural radial magnetic bearings are widely used. However, homopolar structure is better than the heteropolar structure at some special aspects, so the research is very necessary.The main object of the study is the homopolar structural radial magnetic bearings, and the method is based on the traditional structure as a reference.It's about three aspects including structural design, centripetal effect and energy loss.First, according to the basic theory of electromagnetic field and design method of the traditional structural radial magnetic bearings,the design method of homopolar structure is summarized,and it's feasibility is verified by the ANSYS analysis. Then,with the help of MATLAB,multiple-group of structural dimension data of the homopolar structure and the traditional structure is resolved.Through the dimension curves,the two structures are compared in the same design requirements.It's found that the homopolar structure is more suitable for some specific situations.The third, with the the magnetic disc experimental device, an analog experiment is carried out to prove the centripetal effect of homopolar structure is stronger than the traditional structure.Besides,another experiment on magnetic disc experimental device is carried out to research the energy loss,and it's found the hysteresis loss of homopolar structure is less than the traditional structure. Finally, a summary of the entire research and an outlook are made.
