With the development of global chemical industry, the centrifugal compressorwith the utmost importance used to transport and compressed gas in various chemical, oil refining unit. When the high-speed development of the science and technologyapplied to production, the efficiency of centrifugal compressor of the requirements ismore and more high. In the chemical production, most of the gas needed to deal withall has some risk. Once the device has a leak phenomenon, not only pollute the air, butalso cause fatal damage to human beings. For these dangerous qualitative gases, device must have good sealing performance to ensure the process gas to outside. At present, the literature about the dry gas seal mostly concentrated in the air asmedium3d model analysis. There are few the numerical analyses based on actualoperation parameters and the process gas. The purpose of this paper is established themathematical model for dry gas seal combined with the actual production. The paperwill use the operation parameters and the physical properties of the actual fluid as thebasis of study. In recent years, spiral groove dry gas seal in practical application is widely used. The gas pressure between the seal faces is uniformly distributed. It can produce bettergas dynamic pressure effect. The research is based on the theory of the fluid dynamics.Construct a three dimensional mathematical model for the gas membrane of the spiralgroove of dry gas seal on the basis of the finite volume method. Then, calculate thesealing parameters(open force, stiffness and leakage) through solving the gas films getpressure distribution. Analyse the factors affecting the sealing performanceparameters, especially the seals geometric parameters. We will get the optimalcombination of the geometric parameters through orthogonal test. These studiesprovide theory basis for the actual production design used the dry gas seal.
