Loess soil is soft, fine grain, rich in soluble minerals, nutrients, porosity, permeability is strong, it is easy disintegration in water, corrosion resistance is weak. The terrain of the loess plateau is broken; also the rainfall is concentration in this area. So, we must consider the stability of engineering construction in loess plateau area. Soil stabilizer is synthesised by a variety of organic and inorganic materials. It is a type of new energy-saving environmental protection materials used for curing soil. It happened a series of physical and chemical reaction after mixed with soil to improve soil engineering properties, make soil particles tend to agglomerate, volume expansion, and fills the soil porosity, then by the stress from outside world, the soil become stable and compaction, thus forming a overall structure that close-grained and water resistant. Now, a great quantity of soil stabilizer used for construction in our country. This paper researched the effect of EN-1 soil stabilizer on shear strength, hydraulic properties, optimum moisture content for yellow brown soil, loessal soil, lou soil and sandy soil by Simulation experiment. Main results are shown as follows:1.EN - 1 stabilizer had no significant effect on the optimum moisture content for yellow brown soil, loessal soil, lou soil and sandy soil.2. EN - 1 stabilizer improve the lou soil, yellow brown soil, loessal soil and sandy soil shear strength effectively, especially for the cohesion of lou soil and yellow brown soil, the longer the cultivation time ,the better the results. It is best for EN - 1 stabilizer content of 0.01%.3. The influence of saturated water flow for the yellow brown soil and lou soil are obviously, the saturated water flow decline with the admixture increase or the cultivation time extend, solidified soil saturated water flow near to zero when cultivation time more than 14 days.4. In the admixture of 0.1% below, yellow brown soil solidified soil water-holding capability decreased with admixture content increase; along with the increase of cultivation time, yellow brown soil solidified soil water-holding capability increase. EN - 1 influence on the water-holding capability for lou soil is obviously just in low suction stage (0 - 4 x 105Pa), lou soil solidified soil water-holding capability increased with admixture content increase, cultivation time 14 days, 21 days, 28 days has the same effect that more than 7 days cultivation time.5. Loessal soil and sandy soil solidified soils saturated water flow decreases with admixture content increase, with the increase of cultivation time to drop. EN - 1 stabilizer can slightly improve water-holding capability of sandy soil and loessal soil when the admixture content up to 1%, cultivation time has no distinct effection on water-holding capability for sandy soil and loessal soil .
