Annual yield of the main food crops straw in China amounts to 0.6 billion tons.In which the yield of rice straw was 0.21 billion tons. Straw has become the most highest yield renewable resources in agricultural production. Returning straw to the filed,which can improve soil structure,increase soil organic matter content,guarantee high and stable yield of crops,To make efficient use of straw resources,especially rice straw and green manure crops in south of China,it is important to develop a straw returning machine, Which is suitable for paddy cultivation environment,high efficiency,high coverage rate,low energy consumption.In this paper, coverage rate and energy consumption were taken as study objectives, by operation principle of rotary spade, make rice straw,green manure stubble and straw returned.developed a straw embedding machine.The main work including:1. The development of domestic and international overview of straw machine was analyzed, Combined with paddy cultivation characteristics and agronomic, developed the overall design of 1GLF-1.8 type straw embedding machine. Established general performances indexes, such as the width of straw embedding machine was 1800mm, coverage rate≥85%,work productivity was 0.35-0.55 hm2/h.2. Radial shear and radial compression tests of chinese milk vetch in its flowering stage were developed. Diameters of chinese milk vetch in different position were tested, the middle diameter was maximum, the bottom diameter was minimum. The shear test showed that the maximum shear stress was 8.05 Mpa at the bottom, which is the maximum; at the top,the maximum shear stress was 4.62 Mpa,which is the minimum.The compression test showed that the average compressive stress was 16.38 Mpa at the bottom, which is the maximum; at the top,the average compressive stress was 5.69 Mpa,which is the minimum.3. Structural design and analysis for key units of straw embedding machine was developed. Identified the structural parameters of driving system,straw embedding device,scraping device,extension units, Strength of shaft was checked, blades on the shaft used the single-head helical arrangement.4. Kinematic analysis of straw embedding machine was developed. Main operating parameters of straw embedding machine were defined,such as Cut soil pitch,Rotary speed ratio,ditch relief height,soil mattress thickness and so on. According to the movement contrail of the blade and roof, The angle between the blade and the roof was definited,which value range was 40~50°. Analysis to determine the lateral edge of the blade curve equation, based on slide cutaway formula, change regularity of blade's slide cutaway was calculated.5. Mechanical analysis of the blade shaft was developed, mechanical model of the blade shaft was defined; the strength of the blade shaft was checked.Resistance of blade was analyzed.mathematical model of blade was founded.
