Comparison And Analysis Of Street Tree In Beijing, China And Daejeon, South Korea

After data collection and field surveys, results indicated that the main problems of street tree in two cities (urban areas) were:low species diversity, few species occupy dominant rate of street trees in two cities; proportions of evergreen trees are low in two cities; simple and few planting patterns of street trees arrangement are adopted in two cities; proportion of exotic trees is extreme low in Beijing occupying about 6.3% of street trees, while in Daejeon, the proportion of exotic trees was high, occupying 66.1% of street trees; many short-life species but few long-life and precious tree species are planted in Beijing; growth conditions of street trees are not good in Beijing; street tree species composition in Daejeon lacks local legibility.We can see that street tree species introduction between Beijing and Daejeon is plausible. Many tree species from the other city can be employed through trials. Selection and introduction of ornamental colored trees, fruit trees and flowered trees in street that contribute to improve the street landscape esthetics and the whole eco-system of street.It is better to continue to plant Diospyros kaki, Prunus armeniaca, Juglans regia and introduce Prunus salicina, Chaenomeles sinensis, Crataegus pinnatifida, Morus alba, Pyrus betulaefolia, and Malus micromalus in two cities. Platunus occidentalis, Zelkova serrata, Zelkova sinica, Prunus sargentii, Prunus serrulata, Acer buergerianum, Acer palmatum, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Aesculus turbinata, Aesculus chinensis, Lirodendron chinensis, Lirodendron tulipifera, Sorbus alnifolia, Diospyros kaki, Prunus armeniaca, and Morus alba etc are possibly introduced to increase the number of color trees in Beijing. Platunus acerifolia, Platunus orientalis, Fraxinus spp, Lirodendron Chinensis, Ailanthus altissima, Koelveuteria paniculata, Acer trunctum etc color trees can be introduced to Daejeon.Prunus sargentii, Prunus serrulata, Chionanthus retusus, Aesculus spp, Catalpa spp, Magnolia denudate, Lagerstroemia indica, Tilia spp, Styrax japonicus, Syringa reticulata, Syringa pekinensis etc can be introduced to Beijing to beautify the streets. Syring adilatata, Syringa pekinensis, Syringa reticulata, Koelveuteria paniculata, Robinia pseudoacacia, Firmiana simplex, Albizzia julibrissin, Paulownia, Lagerstroemia indica, Tilia spp, Styrax japonicus etc can be introduced to Daejeon.
