Apoptosis is an essential part during the development of multicellular organisms and an active process involving the activation, expression and regulation of proteins. The caspase, Bcl-2 and inhibitor of apoptosis proteins family plays an important role proteins in signal transduction of apoptosis. In this paper, the function of inhibitor of apoptosis protein gene MoIAP from Magnaporthe oryzae and the effect of Bcl-2 on Fusarium stoveri, a fungal bioherbicidal strains to Alternanthera philoxeroides were studied. We had cloned a novel IAP family member MoIAP in Magnaporthe oryzae and found that overexpression of MoIAP prevented cell daeth and generation of ROS in yeast when challenged with H2O2, MoIAP delayed chronological ageing in yeast. In order to recoganize the function of MoIAP in Magnaporthe oryzae, we tried to konck out it. But unfortunately, we did not get the mutants. So, MoIAP is essentional in M. oryzae. Here, we got the MoIAP silenced mutants and the MoIAP overexpressed mutants using gene silencing technology in order to get a further recoganization of MoIAP. The results showed that the MoIAP silenced and overexpressed mutants had no significant differences in the sporulation and the biomass of M. oryzae, but the biomass of overexpressed mutants had faster growth rate than wt-strains Guy11. The extracellular laccase and peroxidase activity of MoIAP overexpressed mutants decreased significantly, while enhanced in MoIAP silenced mutants. Furthermore, conidia of MoIAP overexpressed mutants enhanced resistance to H2O2, while MoIAP silenced mutants did not. But both of them do not effect the pathogenicity to rice.In this paper, Bcl-2 gene was transformed into Fusarium stoveri with Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation and the expression of Bcl-2 gene was tested. The results indicited that the transformates B-6 and B-7 expressing the anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 protein enhanced conidial production, elevated tolerance to temperature and were hyper virulent to host plants Alternanthera philoxeroides. So, this maybe provide us new ideas and approaches to control the weeds Alternanthera philoxeroides.
