Breed And Basic Study On New Rice Sterile Line "BiaoCS" With Light Yellow Recessive Marker Character

Nucleolus sterile line Annongbiao 810S with light yellow recessive marker was founded and selected by Hunan Huaihua vocational technology colleague and its important to utilization and research of two-line rice.This colleague try to select new sterile line with light yellow marker character by transferring annong biao8140S. Some study about agronomic character (growth duration,leaves,panicle etc),Out-cross character(heading and flowering habit,stigma exserted etc.),response to 920(GA3),range of fertility alternation temperature, self-cross trait etc have done. By Cross transferring,seeding in different period,artificial controlling temperature,multiplying by selfing under lower temperature in Hainan, "920" spraying concentration test have done, and research results are as follows:1. Sterile line "Annongbiao810s" with light Yellow leaves recessive marker as gene provider,good parent rice "YuetaiB"as gene acceptor, new sterile nucleolus line was obtained by cross breeding and selecting under ecology pressure and multiplying between north and south area etc. Meanwhile, its yellow marker character expression is steady in the whole growth duration.2. Seeding in different period test show:"BiaoCS" belong to medium mature and early indica sterile line. Days from seeding to harvesting is 64-86d,its average is about 74.5d. Range of main clum total number is 12 to 14, mean leaves is 13.4. if seeded on 20th july in changsha, it cannot tassel in middle september.Rate of temperature promotion to ear is 25.58% and response to temperature belong to medium-level in growth duration. Fertile plant height is about 82cm to 86cm and sterile plant height is 62cm to 68cm.Plant type is tense,and above leaves are straight.3. BiaoCS has high tilling ability and panicle rate. Productive panicles number per plant is 11 to 13, panicle length is 24cm to 27cm,and average panicle length is 25.3cm. Glume total number is 115-156. "biaoCS" have total 125 grains per panicle in fertility stage and filled grains are 106 and seed setting rate is 84.1%. Grain shape is ellipse and small. Grain length is 8.8mm, grain width is 2.9mm,1000-grain weight is 24.6g. Rice is transparence and has good appearance character.4. During the flowering stage the glumes of BiaoCS start to open at 8:00-8:30am, the rush hour appears at 10:50-11:30am, more than 80 percents of flowers open before noon. The duration of glumes lasts long and the angle is wide about 32 degrees. The total rate of exserted stigma is 60.8 percent, the rate of exserted stigma of both sides is 38.2 percent while the single is 22.6 percent without using of gibberellic acid (GA3); treatment of gibberellic acid (GA3) on 4,6,8g per 667m2 the total rate of exserted stigma respectively is 67.1,71.2,74.9 percent, which respectively increases 6.3,10.4,14.7 percent points, among that the rate of exserted stigma of both sides respectively increases 3.3,4.6,6.0 percent points while the single increases 3.0,5.8,8.1 percent points. It needs further research to know whether increasing the dosage of gibberellic acid (GA3) can improve the rate of exserted stigma.5. Treatment on cold-water about 23.5℃in 6 days at fertility sensitive stage, they do not exhibit sterility fluctuation with I-KI at flowering stage; sterility has slightly fluctuation with treatment on cold-water about 22.5℃in 6 days, the rate of stained pollen is 6.5 percent, seed self-setting rate is 3.7 percent, which shows that the temperature of "BiaoCS" for fertility reversion is between 22.5℃and 23.5℃on these conditions.6. Tests on "BiaoCS" during the winter in 2010 to the spring in 2011 from Sanya, Hainan province show that they meet persistent cold weather like daily mean temperature under 23℃at fertility reversion stage, pollen are normal in the heading and flowering period. The effective panicle is 165 thousands per 667m2, mean flower is 112 per panicle, mean grain is 88 per panicle, seed self-setting rate is 78.6 percent, theoretic yield is 348.5kg per 667m2. In fact there are 136kg seeds and 302.4kg per yield.7. "biaoCS" "Annongbiao810S" separately make testcross with male parents 9311 and D100, the result shows:yield of two "BiaoCS" hybrid combinations is higher than that of "Annongbiao810S".That means:combining ability of "BiaoCS" is stronger than that of "Annongbiao810S "8. The research shows that using "Annong Mark 810S" to gene donor can transfer to a new sterile line which plant marked yellowish and character express stable. The agricultural character, out-crossing seed production, self-reproduction character and fertility reversion temperature of "BiaoCS" meet the standards of PTGMS in Hunan province, it need further research on combining ability, stress tolerance and quality character and so on.
