Water hyacinth(Eichhornia crassipes), which has developed strong roots and propagates very fast, is an aquatic weed originated in the region of South America.It can improve the urban environment and clean the water.However, its fast breeding speed has caused serious environmental problems. On the other hand, water hyacinth appears to be a valuable resorce with high economic value.Based on the characteristic and component analysis of water hyacinth from the perspective of resource utilization and study of organic fertilizer producing technology, This dissertation developes a series of high value-added fertilizer, and their biological effect and application mechanism has also been studied through pot experiment and field testing. The detailed results are showed as follow.1. The component analysis of water hyacinth showed that water hyacinth is rich in nitrogen,phosphorus and potassium elements and organic matter, the contents of nutrients and heavy mentals in water hyacinth plant samples taken (either leaf or root) all conformed to the prescribed standard. Ultrasound extraction method is used to extrcat total flavonoids from water hyacinth, the highest total flavonoids amounts could reach as much as 43.2mg/g.2.Organic fertilizer, made by decomposed water hyacinth using the hydrothermal method, is rich in humic acid and nutrients of nitrogen,phosporous and potassium , the highest total humic acid amounts could reach as much as 38.29%,and the total nutrient amounts were not less than 4.1% among all the treatments. As using this hydrothermal process,the water hyacinth could be effectively converted into organic fertilizer,and bring about great ecological and socio-environmental benefits.Pot experiment showed that water hyacinth organic liquid fertilizer can increase the biomass of the cabbage and nutrient content, vitamin C and chlorophyll content.3. Water hyacinth organic fertilizer can increase the yield of kidney bean significantly, improve the quality of common bean effectively, which presents in the aspects of increased soluble sugar, crude protein and Vc content and decreased nitrate content.4. Water hyacinth organic-inorganic compound fertilizer can help the growth of tomato and radish, which presents in the aspects of increased plant height, blade number, opening degree and fruit-bearing rate. Water hyacinth organic-inorganic compound fertilizer has obvious effect on increasing the production of tomato and radish. Using water hyacinth organic-inorganic compound fertilizer can improve the quality and flavor of tomato and radish.5. Field Testing indicates that water hyacinth organic-inorganic compound fertilizer can promote the sprout of citrus, which presents in the aspects of increased number of shoots, the average shoot length and twig growing rate. Fruit-bearing rate, production per plant and rate of growth increased obviously after using water hyacinth organic-inorganic compound fertilizer.Using water hyacinth organic-inorganic compound fertilizer during citrus enlarging stage is beneficial to the fruit enlarging, thereby the weight of single citrus is increased.
