Cotton is an important natural fiber crop in the world,China is an important cotton-producing countrywith great amount of textile exporting, cotton plays an important role in China's national economy.As acrop of industrial material,a cotton variety with good traits requires not only high yield but also excellentfiber quality which could achieve its ultimate commercial value.At present, fiber quality of Upland cottoncan't meet requirement of textile industry. Therefore,we need improve cotton quality.A RIL population with196F6:9lines was developed from an F2population of Upland cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.) cross of sGK9708×0-153.sGK9708is the commercial transgenic variety withBt+CpTI genes resistant to budworm,and0-153with high fiber quality. Five materials with high fiberstrength and five materials with low fiber strength from the recombinant inbred lines were researched. Theten materials of super-molecular structure and fiber quality were studied by X-ray diffraction and HVI900technique.Fiber strength is between30.5cN/tex and33.5cN/tex,fiber length is between27.38mm and33.12mm,fiber micronaire is between2.5and4.17, fiber line density is between107.04mtex and164.93mtex, fibermaturity is between0.6and0.97, crystallinity is between73.1%and80.2%, crystalline grain size isbetween41and50, spiral angle is between10and15.5, the orientational separate angle is between23.0and26.8, the orientational distribution angle is between28.0and32.8in the five materials with high fiberstrength. Fiber strength is between23.5cN/tex and29.2cN/tex,fiber length is between23.89mm and28.82mm, fiber micronaire is between3.47and5.39, fiber line density is between138.21mtex and204.47mtex, fiber maturity is between0.89and1.15, crystallinity is between73.3%and83.2%, crystallinegrain size is between41and50, spiral angle is between10and15.6, the orientational separate angle isbetween25.0and29.1, the orientational distribution angle is between29.1and34.3in the five materialswith low fiber strength. Fiber strength and fiber length are higher in the five materials with high fiberstrength than in the five materials with low fiber strength, had a sensible difference. Fiber micronaire, fiberline density, fiber maturity, the orientational separate angle and the orientational distribution angle arelower in the five materials with high fiber strength than in the five materials with low fiber strength,had asensible difference. Crystallinity, crystalline grain size and spiral angle are not sensible difference between the five materials with high fiber strength and the five materials with low fiber strength.Cotton fiber quality and fiber super-molecular structure had not sensible difference in the differentflowering date.The results indicated that strength of cotton matured fiber had a positive correlation with fiberlength,and fiber strength had a negative correlation with fiber micronaire,and fiber strength and fiber lengthhad a negative correlation with the orientational separate angle, the orientational distribution angle,andfiber micronaire had a positive correlation with the orientational separate angle, the orientationaldistribution angle,fiber length had a negative correlation with fiber micronaire.Fiber strength, fiber lengthand fiber micronaire showed no correlation with crystallinity, crystalline grain size, spiral angle. The cottonmatured fiber quality should mainly depend on the decrease of orientational parameter in crystalline section,especially the orientational separate angle, the orientational distribution angle. Fiber maturity, line densityhad a positive correlation with fiber micronaire,and had a negative correlation with fiber strength, fiberlength,and had a positive correlation with the orientational separate angle, the orientational distributionangle,and showed no correlation with crystallinity, crystalline grain size, spiral angle, Fiber maturity had apositive correlation with line density. The correlation of fiber maturity, line density and fibersuper-molecular structure is an innovation in the study. Studies on the correlation of cotton fiber qualityand fiber super-molecular structure provide scientific basis for improvement cotton fiber quality.
