Infectious bursal disease (IBD) is an actue, highly contagious viral infection of young chickens that has lymphoid tissue as its primary target with a special predilectiom for the bural. It induces vaccination failure and secondary infections within the flock, causing huge economic losses to the poultry industry, thus IBDV has been considered one of the most important poultry diseases worldwide. Vaccine is one of the most effective methods of Infectious bursal disease control in China, and the quality of vaccines is directly related to immune success or failure of the epidemic disease prevention. The strain B87has been the most widely used as a production of the infectious bursal vaccine. In order to make sure its virulence stability and good immune response, we shouldn't just depend on the relative written standards, but also the physical standards. The reference standard of Infectious bursal disease can better control the quality of vaccine, achieving the standardization of the calibration value of effectiveness. The national standard materials of infectious bursal disease were established through the selection, analysis and the determination of its standard features of semi-products which are served as candidate standard materials. This research primarily finished the establishment of the preparation and selection methods of moderately living Infectious bursal disease vaccine (B87) through the studies of candidate standard materials. According to the test results, the batches of vaccine candidate were selected and the final national standard material candidates were produced. After the basic quality inspection and effectiveness calibration, these national standard material candidates can be preserved. Last, collaborative study is carried out to demonstrate that the candidate national reference materials for IBDV(B87) is suitable for its potency by TLD50. Then the raw datas from every participant are analyzed by statistical analysis, and the uncertainty of assay is introduced into the assignment of national reference materials for IBDV(B87) to get more precise result with an fiducial range.
