Effect Of Huangshu Enema On The Expression Of VIP In The Colonic Mucosa Of Diarrhea-predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome Rats

AIM:To discuss the effect of traditional chinese medicine Huangshu Enema (HSE) on the expression of Vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) in the colonic mucosa of Diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (D-IBS) rats and to study its possible functionary mechanism to treat D-IBS.Methods:Forty-eight female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into normal co-ntrol group (n=12), model group (n=12), HSE treatment group (n=12) and pinav-erium treatment group (n=12).Senna decoction and add stress were combined to re-plicate D-IBS model.Appl-ied envision of immunohistochemistry staining method to determine the VIP express-ion in the colonic mucosa of rats, every group choose eight rats randomly.Result:The number of VIP positive cells and dyeing intensity in the colonic mucosa of rats with immunohistochemistry staining in model group (n=8)were higher than nor-mal control group (n=8)significantly (both P< 0.01)In treatment groups(n=8) were lower than model group significantly (both P< 0.01).And in HSE treatment group was lower than pinaverium treatment group sign-ificantly (both P< 0.01)Conclusion:HSE can reduce the number of VIP positive cells and dyeing intensity in the col-onic mucosa of D-IBS rats with immunohistochemistry staining, and rectify the func-tion of brain-gut-axis,It is effective to improve and treat D-IBS with HSE.
