Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a optical measurement techniques which is noninvasive and rapidly develop in the 1990s years. It makes use of the attraction regiment which is closely related to oxygen metabolism in biological tissue. Such as the oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO2) and the deoxygenated hemoglobin (Hb) in blood and so on, they follow the different principle in absorption spectrum. And measure the relative concentrations variation of oxygenated hemoglobin and the deoxygenated hemoglobin in brain independent. Due to it could detection the blood oxygen concentration changes directly in target organization ,so as to it realize the monitoring of brain function. It provides a convenient and reliable monitoring method for clinical research, so the near-infrared spectroscopy showed great potential in examining brain function activities.motor imagery is do the repeated imagine movement in order to improve movement function, but without any motor output, according to the memory of movement in the brain to activate an activity of specific areas, So as to achieve the purpose of improving movement function. Motor imagery therapy development rapidly in recent years, for the functional recovery of stroke patients with hemiplegia, it provide a new rehabilitation treatment method. In this paper, we use the multi-index measured and high time-resolved characteristics of near-infrared spectroscopy,we monitored 16 heathy elderly during their hands doing clench fist movement, and hands clench fist motor imagery, observe the activation condition of brain in all the subjects under the implementation of the sports and motor imagery task circumstance. Inspects the hemodynamic changes characteristics of cerebral cortex which was activation in the brain areas, and inspects the cebaral cortex regions activated under sports the and motor imagery tasks .The result is that: there exists a typical activation pattern in which the concentration increases in oxygenated hemoglobin and total hemoglobin were frequently accompanied by concentration decrease in deoxygenated hemoglobin. Motor imagery as the same as movment can mainly activating the primary sensorimotor area and upplementary motor area.To sum up, this thesis takes the lead in near-infrared spectroscopy technology applied to for motor imagery research. Come to a conclusion: Motor imagenry could activate the same brain areas like sports activated. That is, a motor imagination can play the same role as sport promote the function of the movement, thus it provides a new method for sports imagination research.
