Research On Alexithymia And Related Factors Of Cancer Patients

Objective:Investigate the incidence of alexithymia of inpatient. explore relative factors and the correlation between different factors.and provide evidence to improve the quality of life on patients suffering from cancer.Methods:This was a random and comparison study.Subjects were 116 cancer inpatients who met the enrollment criteria were selected from the department of oncology and 102 benign disease outpatients from other departments.A comprehensive assessment was conducted by using self-compile general situation questionnaire, the twenty-item Toronto alexithymia scale(TAS-20)and MCMQ. QOL-30. Al 1 data were processed by SPSS 17.0 survey and analysis.Results:(1) Alexithymia prevalence in cancer patients was 44.8%, and the control group was 5.88%;(2) there was significant difference between two groups, and compared with the control group,the cancer group got higher at average score and total score;(3) The factors which had significant difference in EOT and TAS were occupation:(4)The factors which had significant difference in DIF, DDF and TAS total score were course and emergency case degree.(5)The factors which had sigificant difference in quality of life andTAS total score,DIF,DDF;and difference in EOT and function.general symptoms and economic difficulties;avoidance and difference in resignation and resignation in coping style and alexithymia and quality of lifel(6)DIF has a direct effect to the quality of life, at the same time through for coping style have indirect effect.to the quality of life.Conclusion:The incidence of alexithymia were much higher in cancer patients,but the average factors and total score were higher than those in the control group. Alexithymia's influence factors have occupation,course and critical level, coping style etc.Alexithymia and coping style,the quality of life related significnat,and direct impact to the quality of life.and the same time through coping style have inderect effect to the quality of life.
