As Chinese Medicine and Health has rapidly developed in recent years and Chinese people has paid more attention to their health, the quantity of patients in domestic major public hospitals is on the rise, which not only caused a relative shortage of medical resource, but also far exceeded the hospital's initial carrying capacity. In this way, it requires our country increase investment in medicine and health service, and at the same time the hospitals should make efforts to optimize the existing clinical procedures to fit to the need of medicine and health market. At present, with further development of market economy and improvement of medical service, many domestic experts in hospital management have started a lot of practices and researches in hospital service procedures, which is a key to the development of hospitals. Among them, outpatient service is an important part, which can directly reflect the whole service level and influences economic benefits of the hospital.Based on the current situation of outpatient service procedures in domestic major public hospitals, and the prevalent phenomena of "three advantages, one shortage", taking the method of outpatient procedures reconstruction in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University as an example, this article analyzes the necessity and the implemented projects in the process of optimizing and reconstructing outpatient service procedures in comprehensive hospitals. It also focuses on the following aspects to investigate the program of optimizing the outpatient service procedures.1. Rationally applying modern information technology to optimize outpatient service2. Using service appointments to improve outpatient treatment procedures3. Fully applying performance appraisal and incentives system in clinic staff to improve outpatient service procedures4. Building up the multi-functional outpatient service centers5. Setting up reasonable functional partitions in clinic.
