Part1A study on the association of the-28C/G polymorphism of RANTES gene with pre-diabetes and diabetes mellitus paitents in Lahu peopleObjective To explore the association of the-28C/G polymorphism of RANTES gene and pre-diabetes,diabetes mellitus paitents in Lahu people. Methods The-28C/G polymorphism of RANTES gene was detected by PCR-RFLP in173Wa people with pre-diabetes (PD),52Wa peopl with Diabetes mellitus(DM) and138normal controls (NC). The genotypes and allele frequencies distributions were compared among people with pre-diabetes, Diabetes mellitus and normal controls, at the same time, the related clinical and biochemical indicators were also compared. To recruit in the survey by questionnaire, investigate the prevalence of diabetes and other possible risk factors to DM. Logistic regression analysis was used to estimate the risk markers of pre-diabetes and Diabetes mellitus. Results (1) There was no significant differences in genotypes and allele frequencies distributions among PD, DM and NC(P>0.05).(2)The levels of TC,HDL,LDL,ALT,AST,BUN,CRE,UA in both DM and PD were significantly higher than NC;the level of CRE in DM were significantly higher than PD,the level of age in DM is significantly higher than NC;the levels of TG,DBP in PD were significantly higher than NC.(3) There were no significant differences in the related clinical and biochemical indicators among the three groups with different genetypes(P>0.05).(4) The ALT, BUN,TC may be related with PD and DM in Lahu people. Conclusion The-28C/G polymorphism of RANTES is not a risk factor for PD and DM in Lincang Lahu People; The ALT, BUN,TC were risk factors of PD and DM in Lincang Lahu people. Part2The racial diversity with the-28C/G polymorphism of RANTES Gene among Lahu,Wa and Han peopleObjective To investigate the discrepancy of the-28C/G polymorphism of RANTES gene between the Lahu and Wa people in Lincang city,as well as NC group in Han people in Kunming city. Methods According our previous research, the genotype frequency and allele frequency of the-28C/G1polymorphism of RANTES gene,at the same time, the related characteristics of cases and controls were compared among321Lahu People (148normal glucose controls and173PD patients),220Wa people (91normal glucose controls and129PD patients) and67normal glucose controls in Han people. Results (1)There were not significant differences in genotype frequencies and allele frequencies between Lahu and Wa People in the whole samples (P>0.05).(2)There were not significant differences in genotype frequencies and allele frequencies between Lahu and Wa People in the normal glucose controls(P>0.05).(3) There were not significant differences in genotype frequencies and allele frequencies between Lahu and Wa People in PD patients (P>0.05).(4)There were not significant differences in genotype frequencies and allele frequencies between Lahu and Han People in the normal glucose controls(P>0.05). Conclusion There may not exist racial diversity with the-28C/G polymorphism of RANTES gene, because there were not significant differences in genotype frequencies and allele frequencies between Lahu and Wa People of Yunnan province; The-28C/G polymorphism of RANTES was not related with PD in Lahu and Wa people;...
