Pancatantra And Tibean Literature

Pancatantra is an ancient Indian classical book which is consisted with five series. From the sixth century, the European and Arabian countries started to translate this book into their own languages. According to the history of cultural diffusion, this book was translated into fifteen languages in India, two languages in Afica, fifteen languages in Europe, fifteen languages in Asia and translated into fifty four languages in total. Even this book was renowned to the rest of the world; Tibetan are still unfamiliar with Pancatantra. This paper is consisted with three chapters:the first chapter briefly introduced the five series of Pancatantra which includes the name of this book, body paragraphs and the general meaning of the book. The second chapter is going to cover the relationship between Asian literature and the Pancatantra. Specifically,Pan catantra's influence on the literature of India, China and Tibet. The third chapter is ended with examining about the influence of Pancatantra on some western countries. As a neighborhood, the two nations India and Tibet have a long and powerful way of exchanging their culture. Therefore, Tibetan literature profoundly accepted Indian culture in different aspects. Even the Pancatantra has a great influence on Tibetan proverbs (saying), but almost none of Tibetan scholars explored the connection of Pancatantra and Tibetan literature. As a result, this paper has a great value in finding the origin of Tibetan proverbs (saying).
