India had a long period in history under the rule of British colonial. British settlers initially in order to seek commercial interests, they gradually developed into a actual ruler in political, economic, cultural and other fields. This made the face of India society presents many new features, especially in education. No doubt will be deeply bears the footprints of the British Empire.This article attempts to analyze a series of measures and the impact of the colonial that implemented by British Empire in the education field. Colonial rule of the authorities of their own consideration, passive leaded the way in the modernization of the new education and reasonable. Wood Committ has developed a Wood Education and urgent or Great Charter Education in India, a theory to guide the education reform in 1854.Hunter Committ report made specific proposals through practial investigation in 1882,they laid the foundation of modern education.India followed by the gradual establishment of a modern education system. British in India to implement a series of educationl initiatives, have played a positive effect on cultivating new intellectuals ,the development of female education, the impact of religious reform and the development of Indian language and culture. The original intention of British is based on the colonial rule, resulting in the colonial educationg also showed negative effects: the imbalance in the field of education in nulti-level, the difference between Hinduism and Islam in accepting new deucation, which greatly contributed to the idea among the two sects. To rethink and look at these issues should be a help to deepen understanding of the history of colonial education in India, and inspire the development of education in China.
