Claude Simon created a new place in the novel art about his works La Route des Flandres:to show the simultaneity totally he put the ways of paintings,movies and so on into the words;also made full use of the uniqueness and initiation which belongs to the memory,on the basis of nondirective association that belongs to steam of consciousness layout events and sequence ably. All this manifest the extensity of this novel vividly, which lead the readers to overfeel sliding slowly time.While reading and collecting domestic researching materials on La Route des Flandres, the author of this thesis has found out that the main argument of this novel has been completely overturned by the idea that "the extensity totally dispels the timeliness". Objectively, the extensity is a massive interference with the timeliness in this novel; however, the timeliness hasn't been replaced by the significant extensity. Therefore, this paper emphatically analyzes the interference with the narrative time from the extensity and memory of this novel, which will indicates the difficult progress and deformation of the time in the novel. The paper will analyze specifically the interference with the time of the novel as well as reorganize its deformation with the application of Paul Ricoeur's theory of la configuration du temps, E. G. Husserl's theory of "the phenomenology of the consciousness of internal time", and close reading method combining with Simon's multiple identities as a poet, an artist and a director and his creation method related to the Impressionism and the Cubism. This thesis is composed of for parts including Introduction, ChapterⅠ, ChapterⅡand Conclusion. The Introduction generally introduces the literary status of Simon and the French Nouveau Roman writers, their writing styles, and the research on them at home and abroad. ChapterⅠmainly talks about the space's interference with narrative time from the perspective of the strong space form shaped by pictures, pointing out how the time in pictures performs in space. ChapterⅡanalyzes the interference with the time from memory which embodied with ideological chaos itself and possesses a hysteresis nature as an inner-time existence. And the flowing of time is also illustrated by the changing of the smell, the sound of rain and the shadows. Finally, the thesis concludes Simon's innovation and accomplishments on the narration of La Route des Flandres.
