The Marginal Image In Margaret Atwood's Works

Margaret Atwood is the famous author of Canada.The marginality of conoly and marginal identity of female caused her concern on the marginal survival.She is also a prolific author, her novels have wide range of designs, new perspective. Throughout at atwood's novel, we will find the same center,that is the research to marginal survival .In this research,she told us:Only rely on their own strength, get rid of Victim's status and then they can be independent survival.This paper is going to illustrate the marginal image with feminism theory,based on marginal survival.The paper is divided into three chapters .The first chapter shows the characteristic of marginal men through the contrast between the marginal men and power men. The second chapter is to analyze the living predicament of marginal women in novel. In order to get rid of Victim's status,they do the arousal and revolt. The third chapter is to retrospect the exist reason of marginal survival: One is for the writer's family environment and education background, the other is for the national's colonial experience. The third one is to remodel indigenousculture from looking for cutural identity.This paper has certain realistic significance and shows the marginal men's revolting and fighting for exist and fate, through building the marginal image.
