Comment On The Creative And The Singing In The Two Masterpieces Of The Composer Liucong

Cong Liu is one of the most famous contemporary Chinese composers. Anchored in the traditional Chinese culture and grounded on the integrity of native and multivariate culture, he constantly explores and innovates, and he has composed lots of art songs which have manifested Chinese personality—art songs with characteristics of the nation and the times. Combining the study with the practice over the past few years, this thesis studies the art songs of Cong Liu. Firstly, it briefly introduces the developing history of art songs, primarily the definition and features of art songs, the phylogeny of European and Chinese art songs. Then, the essay researches and analyzes the composing style and application of the technology of singing, particularly from such aspects as the subject feature, the composing technique and the rhythm. It analyzes the grasp of the emotion of art songs according to the characteristics of Cong Liu's art songs. Meanwhile, it makes some requests on the singing techniques for the singers; for instance, the tone quality and the sound volume, breathing and consonance, the rate and rhythm, and the concert with the pianoforte accompaniment. The article explores how to express the word of Cong Liu in vocal singing so that the style of his work can be digested in a better and more accurate way. Even more important is that through the analysis of Cong Liu's art songs, some existing problems in contemporary art songs can be revealed and the trend of its development would be presented.
