As one of the most important sites of primitive culture in the upper Yellow River basin, Qijia culture covers a huge area. Its first being discovered took place in Qijiaping (Guanghe county, Gansu province) in 1924. Up to now, archeologists have contributed a lot to the research and excavation of Qijia culture and accumulated rich materials for further study, which means important academic value to the study on primitive culture in the Yellow River Drainage Area.Various studies on Qijia culture are under its way in the Academic circle with abundant unearthed wares. Especially the jade of Qijia culture enjoys no less reputation than that of primitive culture in the aspects of types, materials and manufacture craft. Jade ware of Qijia culture takes up a critical position in the primitive jade ware developing process, which provides not only important information of the beginning stage of charming Chinese civilization's development, but also a chance to know more about the material culture in the upper Yellow river basin. All these studies will be greatly helpful to a further research on the generation and development of private ownership and disaggregation of primitive society.This thesis will give a primary conclusion about jade wares of Qijia culture based on official unearthed wares and reseach findings. In this writing, jade wares of Qijia culture will be analyzed from different points of view and compared with jade wares of other cultures in order to find out the relationships among them. Therefore, personal opinions will be proposed only to lead into the discussion and a further study on the topic.
