Second language learners vary their performances systematically in different situations when they try to convey meanings in the target language. This kind of phenomenon is called interlanguage variation. It was demonstrated that there existed different kinds of causes of Interlanguage Variation. In recent years, linguists do lots of research on this kind of field in different angles, such as in sociolinguistics'and in psycholinguistics'. The author selected 150 students from three different colleges (Jiangxi University of Science and Technology; Gannan Normal University; Gannan Medical University)as the experimental subjects. The essay mainly study these students'performances in learning Absolute Construct and Subjunctive Mood to testify whether different kinds of Absolute Construct, different syntactic functions of Absolute Construct and time pressure carry weight on the students'learning of Absolute Construct and Subjunctive Mood. In the other hand, the results of the study will further enrich the Interlanguage Variation theory and provide direct empirical evidence. The results of this essay revealed that different kinds of Absolute Construct, different syntactic functions of Absolute Construct and time pressure do influence the students'learning of Absolute Construct and Subjunctive Mood. Meanwhile, the author also finds that age and gender do little effects on the students'learning of Absolute Construct and Subjunctive Mood. Based on this, the author provided some thoughts for the enrichment of approaches accounting for interlanguage variation, and implications and suggestions for the improvement of English teaching methods: teachers should design various kinds of exercises; make good use of beneficial factors to improve students'English learning. For different functional grammar structure, teachers can classify them; dissolve them one by one, so as to achieve good teaching results. Teachers should adjust the students'psychological factors at any time when they are learning English.
