Tyranny is defined as the personal dictatorship established by an violence way。There were many city-states which saw Tyranny, of these city-states those in Peloponnese had seen the tyranny with special characteristics. Because of flourished commodity economy, class contradiction, race contradiction and the military reform, Peloponnese took lead in establishing the tyranny. Argos, Corinth, Sicyon, Elis were the city-states to establish tyranny earliest, and the three formers had great influence. The tyrants always executed policies such as encouraging industry, advancing seafaring and absorbing demos to military, these policies were profitable to elevate the demos' economic power and political position. Because of these promotions, political corruption and the intervention from Sparta, these tyrannies declined and perished firstly. The tyranny exerted a great influence on their selves city-state, during the tyrant domination, these city-states had witnessed the economic booming, culture flourishing and the nation's power increasing, especially the demo's power raising, which became the base for the Hellenic government leading to democracy.
