| Du Mingxin, as a contemporary composer, has an important influence in China, and is world-renowned in music area. His works combine the system of the major and the minor and national pentatonic style, and reveal the features of Chinese national style through the traditional western composition techniques sufficiently. His works has its unique charm and is to be a landscape in Chinese music history."The Red Detachment of Women", as one of his solo piano works, was created in 1975. The Suite was created in the Cultural Revolution, and is on the basis of a ballet"the Red Detachment of Women". There are seven musical compositions in it, and are all selected from the ballet"the Red Detachment of Women". Each musical composition has a corresponding title, reflects the image of the music theme, the basic mood and atmosphere. The whole work has profound meaning and high artistic value.This paper makes Du Mingxin's piano music as the entry point, the piano suite"the Red Detachment of Women"as the object of research to explore its musical language features and the fusion and heritage of its creative style.This paper is divided into six parts. Introduction, mainly discusses the starting point, significance, methods, and research space of researching"the Red Detachment of Women". The first chapter discusses the historical and cultural background of creating the piano suite through the social and historical background of the special period and the influence and edification of social and cultural Trends on creating the piano suite. It clarifies the influence of the social environment and the inside cultural information of the piano suite. Chapters II and III is the key part of this paper. The second chapter starts with the musical language feature of the piano suite"the Red Detachment of Women", classifies the musical language feature of the seven movements, and analyzes the music from its performance characteristics (melody, harmony, rhythm, melody and tonality). It further concludes the artistic features of its musical language and explores the fusion and heritage of the musical language. Chapter III starts with the music creative style of the piano suite"the Red Detachment of Women", further explains the nationality feature and the epochal character feature, explores the inheritance and development of the music creative style through the structural analysis of the first, fourth, fifth, and seventh movements.
