Though there are few researches about female images in Yu Hua's novels, and which are unconcerned by researchers too. But they themselves have the unique value in literary, because they show Yu Hua's emotional value. I find out Yu Hua's male chauvinism using the theory of gender poetics. In this paper, I'd like to arrange the female images in Yu Hua's novels according to different kinds of roles, fates and characters, and I systemize them to mother images, holy girl images, accomplice images and vamp images. But undoubtedly they're all strongly typed and unitary. Then I will analyze the features of female images. They show materialistic, flat and independent. And I will explain these features from the following points of views. For examples: so-called materialistic is that they are tool of male world; flat is that the female images are empty and abstract; independent is that the female images all depend on male subjects, and they are lack of independence on moral and physical support. Therefore, the female images cannot change their situation when they are in dilemma, and lost their subject consciousness.I find that the identity and subjectivity of female images in his works are getting lost, and then I summarize the reasons: the male chauvinism. Such as the language and narrative perspective of males, the narrow limitation of subject in the works. Finally, I'd like to analyze the reasons why Yu Hua writes such female images. I find that Yu Hua can't get away from the deep paternal culture with the male right shadow that thought in his novels, such as the language and narrative perspective of males. The author narratives from"male"point of view and females are been narrative. Besides, males always lead the story and right of speak. These are related to Yu Hua himself. Because on one hand, he himself is male, which is bound to he cannot write exquisite sensibility of female; on the other hand, his life experience also affects his writing style. The difficult life he had led as a child provides him rich memorial and psychic resources. For example: Yu Hua's hospital experiences in his childhood affect the bloody and ruthless scenes in the novels, while the descriptions of helpless and misery, the desire for warm and sunshine and etc are also related to his childhood experiences. The author's sensitive character makes him lack of rational thinking. Thus Yu Hua has his own literature view, that's, from"the reality in literature","phony forms"to"the intervention of imagination". Though these, Yu Hua form self-subjectivity writing ideas, but which leads Yu Hua cannot overstep his limitation to write female more rationally. All these reasons lead Yu Hua follow his own ideas and feelings absolutely when he writes novels. Therefore, the characters of female images in Yu Hua's novels are single and stationary.
