On Heinrich Cunow's Understanding To The Basic Idea Of Historical Materialism

Heinrich Cunow(1862-1936),German Social Democrats, sociologists and economic historians, one of the Marxist theorists and activists. in the communist movement in the history, Cunow is a indispensable figure ,though wasn't Cunow the lead character in politics, It is remarkable for him to uphold and defend and develop Marxism and historical materialism. In the second international, Cunow was basically a centrist theorists, led by Kautsky and stand with him, he was determined in defend Marx's theory before the First World War. On the eve of the First War and after the outbreak of war, in the second international interal,formed many theory schools and they all elucidated themselves of ideas since they had different ideas and different judgments on the international situation. All the theorists had claimed that their theory is the orthodox Marxist theory of inheritance. Cunow spent a lot of effort in writing, before and after 1920,finished writing "Marx's historical, social and state doctrine, " in the book, Cunow didn't limit to write ideas of Marx, but also wrote the early Western thought from ancient on, so that Marx's historical position on his historical, social and state theory could be more clearly highlighted.This article attempts to make "Marx's historical, social and state theory"as the core basis, use the method of contrast, focus on expounding the understanding of historical materialism and explore a useful contribution, the lack and the deviations department in Cunow's elucidation of historical materialism, to analyze the reason for the comprehensive and accurate understanding of Cunow's understanding of historical materialism and do some basic analysis, but also from a historical perspective to grasp the historical materialist conception, we can gain a theoretical enlightenment when deal with"source"and"flow"relations.
