Jack London is a controversial writer in the history of American literature, and his works has also gone through ups and downs in China. This paper, referred to the archetype criticism and combined with the writer's life experience, analyzes four typical images in his works: the wolf, the wild, the sea and the forest, and then makes clear his creation's artistic value and important position in the literature history through the relation between his writings and American and even Western literature tradition.This paper is divided into three chapters. The first chapter, a introduction, introduces Jack London's life experience, works and research conditions at home and abroad. The second chapter which divided into four chapters is the main body of the paper. Combined with the writer's life experience, it introduces the concrete embodiment of the four images: the wolf, the wild, the sea and the forest in his works in turn and their literary tradition based on Love of Life, The Call of the Wild and The Sea-wolf and other works. The last chapter is to conclude the analysis of the images in Jack London's works. I believe that inheriting to the Western literary tradition; his writings have an important artistic value and social significance.
