This thesis attempts to analyze the sentence of'wo pao de hen kuai'(NP+V得+很Adj) in modern Chinese based on related theories of syntax, and summarize the deep semantic frame of such kind of sentence; the present study is further designed to explore the transforming process from deep-structure to surface-structure, and the controlling mechanism at surface level that influences the complement'很Adj'moving to the adverbial position.1. In light of the theories of theta of NP and the semantic indications of V and C, the sentence in the form of'NP+V得+很Adj'is divided into seven types, according to the Theory of the Case Grammar. This paper has clearly presented the deep structural characteristics of these types of sentences, on which the classification of these eight types has been based.2. According to the Theory of Regularity and the Theory of Light Verbs, this paper has summed up and elaborated the processes these sentences transform from deep-structure to surface-structure.3. In accordance with the above research conclusions, this paper has further discussed about the types of ambiguous sentences of'NP+V得+很Adj'and suggested several resolutions.4. By analyzing the data, this paper has concluded two restrictions for complement-adverbial exchanges: the remaining of the two will violate the Principle of temporal sequence; C and V are semantically related.
