The development of economy of tea industry in Qimen, which has an impact on its social economy, culture and life in modern times and promotes the social trasition in Qimen. This thesis focuses on the study on Qimen tea industry in order to probe into the correlation between economy of tea industry and social transition.This thesis is divided into five parts. The first part mainly introduces a survey of the development of Qimen tea industry. Because of its special nature geography, a distinctive productive structure of tea was born. Therefore, the structure of tea industry that the coexistence of An tea, Black tea and Green tea has been coming into being. The second part mainly analyzes the craft of the tea in Qimen. And the third part thoroughly discusses the condition of tea merchants and tea business in Qimen. As a staple trade, the trade of Qimen Black tea has been flourishing, and the tea merchants have spread all over the big trading ports from modern times. The fourth part analyzes some related social problems about tea industrial structure. It is considered that the rise of tea economy has urged a great many outlanders to join in tea production in Qimen. These tea workers not only enrich the work force, but also bring some social problems. The fifth part focuses on the correlation between economy of tea industry and social transition in Qimen. When tea profit is coming in Qimen continually, it has effected the changes of people's life style, local custom and conditions, and also the rise of modern education.
