A Research Of Naiyao's Biography Theory And Writing

As an important component of classical Chinese biographical literature which is rich and historical, Biographical prose reaches high literature level and is of important historical value. Biographical prose is different from Historical records and Mixed biographies in both style and focus. There are numerous forms of Biographical prose such as Biographical prose, Biography as official uses, monumental inscription, preface and so on. Thus, research and classifying of Biographical prose are of great importance。A lot of creative Biographical prose was written by NaiYao who is a famous litterateur in Qing Dynasty. He also published some theory in biography purpose, material selection and meaning which poses great significance in history of biography theory. So far, researchers have paid too much attention to NaiYao's ancient writings and the biography theory and works, however, were not researched enough. In this case, the writer makes a comprehensive analysis of NaiYao's biographical theory and works based on previous study.In this paper, the version of "XiBaoXuan Poetry Collection (Shanghai ancient books press)" marked by JiGaoLiu was used as the main reference. By collection of document, comparison and analysis, this paper explains the main ideological content and unique artistic in NaiYao's biographical prose. This paper consists four sections. The first part describes the status of NaiYao's biography research, indicates researching methods. The second part summaries NaiYao's biographical theories, includes three aspects of purpose, material selection and meaning. The third part through analyzing the announcing his biographies to reveal the identity types of biography of ideological content. The fourth summaries the unique artistic in aspects such as language, methods, style, and so on.
