During the Religious Reformation, the Huguenots which was one of the Protestants had immigrated to England. After the revocation of the Edicts of Nantes, more and more Huguenots were forced to leave their hometown, and came to England.Along with them, there were kinds of social problems,so English government was confronted with severe challenge. When it took many measurements to resolve immigration problems, the government was thrown into a dilemma. On the one hand, James II and William III had their own methods to relieve the Huguenots'poverty, but it was not so good; on the other hand, not only the King and the parliament but also the different parties in the parliament, argued fiercely about the naturalization of the Huguenots. The Huguenots problem involved the interests of many groups, which forecast the flexuosity and complexity of the government work. This thesis explores it completely and evaluates it objectively on the basis of documents and from the viewpoint of controversial issues in academic circles.
