With the virtual community, university student's living environment and life way had changed greatly. university student's behavior of virtual community use and the virtual community itself as a new link up media and information propagate terrace would probably widely influence their society develop.The present study investigate more than 1000 university student by using a verity of research method of interview, questionnaire. this study used statistical methods of factor analysis, path analysis, developed "university student virtual community use preference questionnaire investigate", investigate the current condition and characters of university student's virtual community use, and explored the relationship of university student society support, behavior of virtual community use and self-esteem.The conclusions were the following: 1.the development of student's virtual community use preference questionnaire investigate.There were 4 dimensions with regard to student's virtual community use preference, which were self-disclosure preference, information communication preference, information acquisition preference and virtual community preference. the questionnaire had high reliability and validity, which met the surveying requirement and could be used in further study.2. The situation of student's virtual community use preference.(1) university student'the most use preference is information acquisition preference, the second is self-disclosure preference, the third is virtual life preference and the last is information communication preference.(2)the use of university student virtual community with self-disclosure preference has net-age difference remarkable. the university student whose net-age has one year or under one year remarkable lower the net-age above one year in self-disclosure preference, and the university student whose net-age has six to nine years in self-disclosure preference have the highest score.(3)Multiple difference in grade, specialty and net-age on university student on message exchange preference of virtual community use.(4) Multiple difference in grade, specialty and net-age on university student on message obtain preference of virtual community use.(5) Multiple difference in specialty and net-age on university student on virtual life preference of virtual community use.3.The relationship between society-support of university student, virtual communicate and self-esteem(1) Multiple difference in specialty on university students'on friend society support. Multiple difference in net-age on university students'on society support, friend society support and other's society support.(2) No multiple difference in demography on university students'on self-esteem.(3) Each dimension of University student'society support, the total society support and self-esteem has a significant positive correlation.(4) University student'self-disclosure preference and virtual life preference in use virtual community and self-esteem has a significant positive correlation.(5) Self-expression preference of virtual community use in family'support of university student and self-esteem can play a regulatory role.(6) Self-expression preference of virtual community use in friends'support of university student and self-esteem can play a regulatory role.(7) Message-exchange preference of virtual community use in family' support of university student and self-esteem can play a regulatory role.(8) Virtual-life preference of virtual community use in family'support of university student and self-esteem can play a regulatory role.(9) Virtual-life preference of virtual community use in friends'support of university student and self-esteem can play a regulatory role.(10) Virtual-life preference of virtual community use in other'support of university student and self-esteem can play a regulatory role.
