Various testsabout listening comprehension came one after another. A large number of testingtypes have appeared in many tests. However, all of these testing types can beconcluded into two main categories. One is the selected response question, and theother is the constructed response question. The former refers to the multiple choicesand true or false question. It is called selected response question on account of the testitself, which does not need the testees to show their own creative answers. They justchose the answers which they regard best. The latter mainly refers to the blanks fillingand dictation question. We call it constructed response question is because that thiskind of test requires students to write the answers by themselves. Without doubt, thetwo types have their distinct features, especially for the validity. The thesis aims tomake a conclusion that the testing validity is different between them through theinvestigation and analysis on the students in senior high school. In this paper, Chapter One is introduction, which chiefly talks something aboutbackground of research and significance of research.
