An Elegy Of Rural Women's Destiny

As a contemporary male writer, Bi Feiyu is well-known to shape the female images in his writings, which reflect his uniquely creative personality. In decades of writing, he constantly challenges himself and tries to surpass it. With his unique perspective on women, Bi Feiyu interprets all kinds of situations that female have fallen in the entire society, and extended into works. A deep sense of concern and sympathy on women has been permeated into Bi Feiyu's works, which enables the distinguishing characteristics apparent with other writers'. For nearly a century, in the perspective of the written feature of female consciousness in the feminine text, there are many women writers and feminist literary critics who have described and discussed about that, but the description about the counterpart in male writers is relatively lagging behind. Just because of this reason, we cannot ignore the category about the existence of the female consciousness in the male texts. The liberation of women and the soundness of women awareness can't be achieved if unilaterally depend on female, all human beings and the whole society put great effort on it is necessary. Therefore, we need to take a deep research in the description about the female role in the male texts, and Bi Feiyu is such a great writer who is well known for creating the female image.At the same time,Bi Feiyu's works are mostly about the theme of countryside life,for example Maize and Plain, the vivid female characters, one after another, were harmed by the unenlightened rural ideology, step by step gone into adversity, made them at once lovable, pitiable and hateful. This article aims at making an overall research and analysis in writing and recognition about rural women in his novels. The research process is in-depth and profound. This paper is divided into four parts:PartⅠ: Combined with Bi Feiyu's specific works and women characters' all kinds of life experience in the text, this paper wholly described the living condition of rural women: under the shadow of authority, how unfortunate women characters' lives are, how they struggle under the authority, and how this struggle tends to be desperate.PartⅡ:By analyzing his works, we can interpret how the heroine changes the soul in pursuit of power again and again, and how the heroine loses herself in the pursuit of the power adhering to the men, and thus becomes the slave of power, resulted in a group of people without consciousness.PartⅢ: This part concludes the rural female tragedies in Bi Feiyu's works: suffering from the harm of the power, harm from men and female, and even got hurt by themselves, the tragedy of life is formed gradually. Then, female's rough life conditions were revealed in this paper, and it makes inquires about the hard and the eternal life.PartⅣ: This part synthesizes the female image in Bi Feiyu's works and elaborates the author's artistic technique of expression, and then explains how the author combines his personal life experiences, cultural feelings and aesthetic taste to be an comprehensive entirety. So the unique writing and recognition of Bi Feiyu style on the female image come into being.
