The Grand View Garden was an ideal world created by Cao Xueqin. He built the Land of Illusion for Jia Baoyu and the girls, hoping that they could live a life of ease there, without the external influences.However, it was evident to Cao that it's impossible to cut off the Garden from the real world completely. Just as the dirty world outside of the Grand View Garden, the inside of it was also failed to be an ideal world as Cao expected. For one thing, the Garden was constructed based on the real world which keep invading and polluting this domain of immaculate maidens. As a result, the garden cannot exist independently.For the other thing, there are great number of contradictions in it, ie. the ideological contradictions between the girls; the intrigues between the maids; the emotional conflict which related to Jia Baoyu. All these contradictions mentioned above made the life in garden more unrest and disturbance. Further more, as time went by, the girls have to get married and Baoyu grow up. So it is inappropriate for them to play together anymore.The non-ideality of the Grand View Garden showed up gradually. Finally, the under the attack of the authority and the contradictions of itself, the ideal girls world turned to be a grave.
