| At present, there are almost a hundred kinds of creative techniques. It obtainsextensive application and great success in school innovation education and Industrialdesign. However, on other aspect, its theory, effectiveness and applicability arouseextensive controversy. This paper starts with specific creative technique—The Magic BallTheory, and devotes to finding out the applicable condition of it in order to explore theinfluence of it on creativity in different creative situation. On the basis of research on creativity's "task effect", this paper researches the "tasksepcificity" of The Magic Ball Theory. This research consists of three experiments.Experiment I uses between-subject designed experiment group and control group to focuson different tasks with the purpose of finding out the influence of using The Magic BallTheory on Creative output.Experiment II adopts between-subject design of two factors, to probe the influence ofThe Magic Ball Theory on creative output in tasks with the same category (divergentthinking task) but different structure.Experiment III is to probe the influence of on creative output in the same task butdifferent situation. It adopts the design of3-factors mixed design, among which taskstructure is within-subject design, and creative technique and task situation arebetween-subject design.Dependent variables are the fluency, originality, flexibility, persistency andaccuracy of creative output.Through the above experiments, the author summarizes conclusions as follows:1. The Magic Ball Theory obviously influences the creative output of divergentthinking task. Its influence on insight task is not specificant. So it is more suitable to beused in divergent thinking task.2. The structure feature of task siginificantly influences the creative output.3. The influence of The Magic Ball Theory on the output of divergent thinking task is not influenced by the structure of task.4. The situation of task obviously influences the output of creativity.5. The Magic Ball Theory has significant influence on both the output of creativity inindividual situation and group situation. So it is applicable for individual and group. |
