The The Modern Zheng Song Creation Techniques

As a traditional Chinese music, Guzheng music has been favored by a large number of people since the ancient times. Recent years have witnessed the rapid development of this kind of music and the increasing amount of the contemporary works performed by this instrument. The modern Guzheng music not only inherit the traditional merits, but also get influenced by the overseas musical theories. It is significant for us to analyze how the modern Guzheng music exerts influence on the creation, performance and teaching of this kind of music.Modern Guzheng music is characterized by the combination of both traditional and contemporary music theories. Studying the creation theories of modern Guzheng music means that one should explore the influence of the traditional Guzheng music on the modern one, analyze the details of the techniques in creating modern Guzheng music and its performance, and summarize the law of the inter-influence between the creation techniques and its performance.In order to solve these three tasks, this thesis starts with the analysis of the heritage of the traditional Guzheng music and its course of development, finds out its heritage, style, performance and creation, and summarizes the influence of the traditional Guzheng music on the modern one. Second, this thesis takes six modern Guzheng music, created by either composer or performer, for example to illustrate the characteristics of the creation techniques and performance skills from the perspectives of the scale and the structure of the music, the creation theories, and the performance skills, etc. At last, based on the studies mentioned above, this thesis further analyzes and summarizes the commonness in the creation of the modern Guzheng music, predicts the direction of its development from the perspective of inter-influence between the creation and performance skills, and puts forward some new creation skills to keep up with the times.
